Natural Leader’s Legacy Camp
Arinn here, reporting in on the Natural Leader’s Legacy Camp!
I was lucky enough to be selected to attend the Children and Nature Network’s Legacy Camp! This provided me with the tools and connections to become a Natural Leader. I spent four days at Islandwood, an outdoor educational center on Bainbridge Island, Washington. Over the course of the camp, I learned about my leadership style, community organizing, and effective communication. In addition to all of that, I made some amazing friends and was fortunate enough to meet with many wonderful people- including Richard Louv himself!
It didn’t hurt that it took place in one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen. I saw cedars larger than anything I could imagine! Black tailed deer, SEA OTTERS, and garter snakes were just a few examples of wildlife I bumped into. Everything there was so green, it didn’t matter if it was living or dead. Moss, lichens, and ferns covered nearly everything in sight.
Natural Leaders work to empower a worldwide youth movement to strengthen the bond between people and nature. And being a new Natural Leader, I can’t wait to do just that with E-Corps Expeditions!
